So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Datastore versus Firestore
We mentioned at the beginning of this section that Firestore is the latest release of Datastore. While the exam will still refer to Datastore, it is important that we mention Firestore. You will have noticed in the previous section that, when selecting Datastore mode, we can choose between Native mode and Datastore mode.
Cloud Firestore in native mode is the complete re-branded product. It takes the best of Cloud Datastore and the Firebase real-time database to offer the same conceptual NoSQL database as Datastore, but as Firebase is built for low-latency mobile applications, it also includes the following new features:
