I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Migrating data
If we wish to migrate the master copy of our MySQL data into the cloud, then it is best practice to create a replica managed by Cloud SQL and then promote this replica to a standalone instance. To get our data onto Cloud SQL, we should go through the following process:
- Create a Cloud Storage bucket for your data.
- Export your data to the Cloud Storage bucket.
- Set up the replication configuration.
- Configure the source database server to accept connections from the replica.
- Restrict access to the MySQL replication user.
- Finalize the replica configuration.
- Confirm the replication status.
- Clean up your storage.
