GKE is a fully managed service that allows us to provision Kubernetes clusters on demand. It offloads the burden of deploying clusters manually. It also comes with a number of benefits that manual deployment does not offer, such as the following:
A GKE cluster can be deployed in two modes: zonal or regional. In a zonal deployment, only one master node is deployed. In a regional deployment, three masters are deployed in different zones. This is shown in the following diagram:
