Cloud Datastore offers ways to achieve both strong and eventual consistency. Non-relational databases are built on the concept of eventual consistency; however, Cloud Datastore offers two APIs that provide strong consistency for reading entity values and indexes:
If either of these APIs is called, then Cloud Datastore will flush all pending updates for one of its replicas and index tables, then execute the lookup or ancestor query to provide the latest updates. If we have strong consistency requirements along with our filtering requirements, then we can only use the ancestor query.
