So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Retention
Retention defines how long the logs are stored in Stackdriver. After the stipulated period, the logs are removed. Depending on the log types, the retention time differs. Refer to the following list of log types and their retention periods:
- Administrator activity: 400 days
- Data access: 30 days
- System event: 400 days
Note that the logs can be exported and archived for longer periods. We have explained how to export logs in the Exporting logs section of this chapter.
