Beware of or Embrace Independent Consultants?

Independent consultants are those who are self-employed or own a company in which there are only one or two employees. They can be difficult to work with since their goal is normally to remain billable regardless of the outcome for the client.

Independents don’t have stockholder investment cash or volume sales to fall back on. In addition, they are not normally in a position to spend money on training themselves and may “leverage” training materials that the client purchased for its own use.
