There is a definite requirement today for large-scale wireless LANs, but the present capability of Wi-Fi to meet that organizational need is very limited. As a result, many organizations have begun augmenting their Wi-Fi with private LTE. Wi-Fi will continue as the lowest-cost wireless access method for most areas, while private LTE will be used for more demanding use cases, such as large outdoor manufacturing and material handling sites, maintaining connectivity to moving vehicles, and autonomous robotic devices.
