The combination of a large, often naïve population of mobile device users and the prevalence of BYOD presents a difficult problem for IT security teams: mobile malware. With the free flow of devices and data between work and nonwork, criminals have a much easier pathway into very lucrative targets: corporations and their employees.
This problem is compounded by the fact that the tools that IT departments can use on the PC side of the network, such as antivirus software, do not apply on mobile devices.
