Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS have the advantage of years of evolution and feature improvements via adaptations of their very popular mobile operating systems. Indeed, Android’s deployment on a vast array of diverse vendors, devices, and platforms, from smartphones to tablets to IoT devices, made it ubiquitous across the technology industry. This diversity fueled the need for innovation and feature-rich versions of the Android OS.
