So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Appendix . Epilogue: A Lesson from the Future
The second Star Trek movie, The Wrath of Khan (my favorite) opens on the bridge of the starship Enterprise in the twenty-third century, with Saavik, played by a very svelte Kirstie Alley, sitting in the Captain’s chair. We can see from her long pointy ears that she’s a Vulcan.
The communications officer, Uhura, reports to her that there is a distress signal coming from a fuel-carrying vessel called the Kobuyashi Maru. The problem is that the vessel is in the “neutral zone,” an area that Federation vessels cannot enter according to treaty.
