When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Expand / Expand Appearance
The Expand function converts a path into a shape that matches the appearance of the path. Expand Appearance converts an objects effect to an object that matches the appearance of the effect. The Zig Zag (wavy line) Effect will be used to explain how these functions work.
The left side of this example is shown in Preview mode and the right half of this example is shown in Outline mode (View > Outline [Command + Y]).
1. When you draw a line, the preview of the line is how it appears in Outline mode. In Outline mode, it displays the wire frame rendering of the object or path but does not show line weight, end caps, ...
