Offset Path

• 1 Draw a circle with the Ellipse tool (L). Hold Shift while drawing to constrain it to a perfect circle.
• 2 Select the circle and choose Object > Path > Offset path. Set the Offset to -20. Click OK.
• 3 This creates a smaller circle inside the original circle.

Direct Selection and Delete

• 4 With the Direct Selection tool (A), select the left anchor point on the outer circle and delete it.
• 5 This will delete both arcs that connect to the anchor point.
• 6 Direct Select the lower-left arc on the inner circle.

Pen Tool

• 7 Click the inner circle with the arc deleted.
