I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Lesson D: Create a Spray Can
Let’s build a spray can with a nice flow of spray coming out of it.
Drawing Basic Shapes and Lines
- 1 Draw a rectangle using the Rectangle tool (M). Apply an 8 pt stroke to it. Set the stroke weight in the Stroke panel or in the Properties panel. Both panels are under the Window menu. In the Stroke panel set the corners to be Round Join, which rounds the four corners of the stroke.
- 2 Draw a line using the Line Segment tool (\); hold Shift while drawing to keep the line constrained in one direction. In the Stroke panel set the End Caps to be rounded. Make the line the width of the rectangle and the same 8 pt stroke weight. Duplicate the line and move one to the top and one to the bottom of the rectangle.
