I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
23. The Too-Quiet Office
The office is too quiet, a sign that the team has lost its mojo.
You can get a pretty good read on a software development team just by walking the halls. Some sites exude energy. Team members move through them with purpose and obvious pleasure. At the other end of the spectrum are sites that seem like warehouses for forgotten software teams. They have no energy at all. People are waiting until they can go home, and they are waiting for that next paycheck to cash, while looking for something exciting to do, or for retirement day to come.
