Windows users may follow these steps to generate a private key and a public key:

1. Download and install PuTTY from https://www.putty.org.
2. Use PuTTYgen to generate a key, as follows:
   1. Set Type of key to generate to RSA.
   2. Set Number of bits in a generated key to 2048.
   3. Click Generate. You can also generate randomness by moving the mouse, as suggested.
3. Click on Save private key to save the private key.
4. Click on Save public key to save the public key.

Now, we can upload the public key by following the Uploading a key to EC2 section of this recipe. After the key has been imported and associated with our EC2 instance, we can use PuTTY to log in to our machine.
