So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

A role that a service assumes to perform actions on our behalf is referred to as an AWS service role. An AWS service role for an EC2 instance is one such example. With an AWS service role for an EC2 instance, the applications running on an EC2 instance can get temporary credentials to perform actions that are allowed for that role.
This was a simple recipe. Note that we will be using the steps outlined within this recipe in other recipes.
