Twelve-factor app design principles

The twelve-factor app is a methodology for building software-as-a-service applications (https://12factor.net/). This methodology was written in late 2011, and is often cited as the base building blocks for designing scalable and robust cloud native applications. Its principles apply to applications written in any programming language, and which use any combination of backing services (database, queue, memory cache, and so on), and is increasingly useful on any cloud vendor platform.
