In this chapter, we identified what exactly is reason why companies make the decision to move to the cloud. Understanding these key drivers – agility, cost, security, governance, expansion, talent, and innovation – and their level of maturity within the company, will drive the final decision to make the journey. Once the decision is made, it is critical to define and implement the operating model, which will assure stakeholders, as well as change and project management, that risk and compliance requirements are managed and implemented to ensure success in the cloud.
