12.1 Introduction
e growth in the number of mobile devices and global positioning systems (GPS) over the past
decade makes community sensing a reality. Sensors that have been inserted into these devices
allow users to gather information. Community sensing will ideally help the community with
events such as earthquake detection, environmental issues, traffic issues, and other topics relevant
to today’s society. By using sensors in mobile phones, GPS systems, and other devices we will be
