It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

L’apparition d’OCTAVE remonte à l’année 1999. Cette méthode est d’origine américaine, à l’initiative du Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), centre d’expertise sur les incidents touchant à la sécurité du système d’information.
Cette première méthode concerne les entreprises, et a pour objectif d’être utilisée au sein des entreprises avec la version 2.0 en 2001. En 2003, une version spéciale PME a été réalisée, il s’agit de la version OCTAVE-S.
