When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Single-level wildcards
Similar to the multi-level wildcard, the single-level wildcard, indicated by a plus sign (+), can be used to subscribe to various topics at once, but only one level deep. In contrast to the multi-level wildcard, it can be used at any level of the topic name—at the beginning, middle, or end. It can even be used multiple times per topic filter, as well as being combined with the multi-level wildcard. All of the following uses of single-level wildcards are valid:
- /+: This subscribes to the following:
- /kitchen
- /kitchen/+/status: This subscribes to the following:
- /kitchen/smart-coffee-machine/status
- /kitchen/ceiling-light/status
- /+/ceiling-light/+: This subscribes to the following:
- /kitchen/ceiling-light/status
