It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Now, let's install Mosquitto, a very popular open source MQTT server that you can run locally on your computer. It is great for simple testing, and I use it regularly when developing MQTT applications, before eventually switching to a cloud solution.
