So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

To control your IoT device, you will need some sort of interface that can either be a website, smartphone app, or desktop app. Many smart home devices are shipped with their own app that allows you to control the device remotely, change its settings, or check its sensor values even when you are on the road. With recent developments in frontend tooling, it is now easier than ever to create web applications, desktop apps, or mobile apps using web technologies. If you are comfortable using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, you can use one of the available frameworks to bundle a normal website as a smartphone app, a desktop app, or both.
