So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Project 1 – a smart pet food dispenser
The smart pet food dispenser is a remote-controlled container filled with either pet food, sweets, or cereals. Sending a command from your computer or smartphone will allow you to open and close the dispenser, and make its contents available.
To build this project, you will mostly need household items, which you probably have laying around anyway. The only important electronic component is a servo motor, to open and close the food container.
The following parts are needed:
- A plastic bottle: This is a container for the pet food (or cereal if you don't have a pet). Any (big) bottle is fine here. I would recommend a 1.5-liter one, but 1-liter or 2-liters bottle will work equally well. The best are those ...
