KiCAD (http://www.kicad-pcb.org/) is an open source, free EDA software that offers many high-end features similar to those in professional PCB design packages. It is not very difficult to use and has its own library with most electrical components, which makes it a good option for beginners. One downside is that there are different modules, which are not so easy to navigate and take some time to get used to.
