If you find yourself frequently building prototypes and you need the cases to be of high quality, buying a laser cutter is an option that you can consider. However, unlike 3D printers, there is little value in buying a laser cutter yourself:
- Laser cutters that cost a few thousand euros aren't close to the performance of industrial laser cutters that you can find, for example, in FabLabs.
- More affordable desktop laser cutters in the range of a few hundred euros are often hard to set up and not secure. Without a proper ventilation system, you will be exposed to gases that are produced during the cutting process.
