It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Preparation, planning, and reconnaissance
The first phase of the life cycle involves the following two parts:
- Scope, scope definitions, defining the goals of the tests to be carried out, and defining the testing methods and systems to be addressed
- Gathering intelligence such as the domain and endpoints, and understanding how the target API works, along with its exposure to vulnerabilities
