5-amino-1,2,4-triazole, is copolymerized with methyl

methacrylate or styrene.

The release of herbicides by hydrolysis depends on

the nature of the amide bonds [103]. For example, poly

[1-(4-vinylbenzoyl)-5-amino-1,2,4-triazole] exhibits

a high release, whereas poly[3-(4-vinylbenzoyl)-5-

amino-1,2,4-triazole] exhibits a low herbicide release.

Grades

There are essentially no registered trademarks con-

cerning triazole polymers, at least in the United States.

In contrast, there are some trademarks with regard

to agricultural products. Tradenames appearing in the

references are shown in Table 9.5.
