2.3.1.6 Soft Magnetic Composites

Soft magnetic composite particles of reduced iron

coated with ultra-thin ﬁlms of poly(p-xylylene) can

be prepared by a CVD polymerization [47].

IR spectroscopy indicates that the polymer covered

outside the reduced iron particles is poly(p-xylylene).

The thickness of polymer ﬁlm is around 100 nm

as conﬁrmed by transmission electron microscopy
