and properties of the composite materials. The electri-
cal conductivity increased in comparison to the neat
homopolymer.
The electrical properties of clay-containing nanohy-
brids of PVK and poly(pyrrole) have been assessed
[224]. Clay hybrids were prepared by mechanical
grinding of the monomers with montmorillonite and
subsequent polymerization.
The inclusion of the polymers in the composites
was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spec-
troscopy. The dielectric constants of PVK-montmoril-
lonite hybrids are improved relative to the homopoly-
mer from 3–6 to 60–180 in the frequency range of
0.1–25 kHz.
