3.4.1 Dopants
Doping creates structural and electronic modifi-
cations in the polymer backbone. Usually, doping
enhances the electrical conductivity.
Doping can be achieved by initiating oxidation or
reduction reactions in the backbone of the polymer.
Oxidation is addressed as p-doping, whereas reduction
is addressed as n-doping.
