5.7.6 Ozone Filter Materials

In electrophotographic copier processes and in

printing processes, small amounts of ozone are

formed. The resulting ozone is constantly given off

into the surrounding air by the apparatuses. The

removal of ozone from the air-stream released by such

apparatuses can be achieved by a polymer-based ﬁl-

ter composed of a PPS. When the PPS is contacted

with the ozone-containing medium, the sulﬁde units

are oxidized to a sulfoxide [95].
