17.4.1 Dopants
Uniform ZnO nanorods, TiO
2
and ZnO spher-
ical nanoparticles have been synthesized and sur-
face modified by various compounds such as
poly(vinylpyrolidine), 1-decanethiol, and trioctyl-
phosphine oxide, as capping agents. These functional-
ized materials were then doped into liquid crystalline
poly(urethane) and poly(acrylate). After doping, the
morphology of the polymer was changed into a highly
porous structure [45].
