Putting things together
HoloLens is a fully untethered wearable device, running on Windows 10 with three built-in high end processors: a CPU, a GPU, and a special HPU. All the processing units, cameras, sensors, speakers, memory, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth are intelligently placed within the device. A special vent works to keep it cool.
To summarize, holographic lenses are transparent so that you can see the real world behind the virtual world blended together. Holographic objects are the light particles, which bounce around millions of time to render the objects.
