Chapter 12, Watch Your House Across the Network

10. In the Username and Password

fields, provide the username and

password you created during

the setup of the Helix Universal

Server (not your Windows user-

name and password).

11. Select the Remember Password

checkbox, as shown in Figure

12-10.

12. Click OK to return to the Server

Destination dialog. The infor-

mation you provided for the

template should have been auto-

matically filled in (that is the

point of the template, after all).

13. Provide a name in the “Stream

name” field, as shown in Figure

12-11. Something clever, like

stream.rm. I added the .rm exten-

sion because we’ll be using the

Real Media player to play the

video across the network.

14. Click OK to return to Helix

Producer.

15. Finally, click the Encode button.

You’re on the air (Figure 12-12)!

Now, you just need a client to

connect to the video stream.

To view the output at different band-

widths, click the Output list and

select a different setting.

If you’re so inclined, you can config-

ure both the Producer and Universal

Server components of the Helix

server to be redundant. That way, if

a computer, camera, or connection

fails, you can still receive your video

stream.
