There’s a little thing I do to every portrait, at the very end of my retouching, that might seem subtle, but I think it actually makes a bigger difference than it seems. I get the Adjustment Brush (K) from the toolbar beneath the histogram in the Develop module, then double-click on the word “Effect” near the top left of the panel to reset all the sliders to zero.
