This is a recipe that works pretty well to create the trendy high-contrast portrait look. To be sure we’re applying the effect to just our subject and not the background, it starts with getting the Adjustment Brush (K) from the toolbar below the histogram, in the Develop module’s right side Panels area, and double-clicking on the word “Effect” near the top of the tool options to reset all the sliders to zero.
