It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Know Where to Start When Editing an Image?
Start in the Develop module, near the top of the Basic panel, by choosing a RAW profile for your RAW photo (by the way, if you shoot in JPEG, you can skip this page). This lets you choose different methods for how Lightroom will interpret your RAW photo (basically, you get to choose the starting place for how your image will look before you start actually tweaking it with sliders and such).
