It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Make My Overall Photo Brighter or Darker (Exposure)?
In the Develop module’s Basic panel, drag the Exposure slider to the right to make your overall image brighter; drag it to the left to make it darker. There’s more to setting your proper exposure than just this one slider, but this is the one I grab when I want my whole image a little brighter or darker.
