So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Suggestion program rules should be clear and simple, as should standards
for turnaround time and rewards. Over time we developed a simple for-
mula for calculating the value of a suggestion. An effective approach is to
award benefit points per suggestion. Team members could cash out ben-
efit points as they accrued. Gift vouchers may also be provided in lieu of
cash. Suggestion forms should be one-page long and cover the following
information:
◾ Source information (e.g., suggester, department, date, and similar identi-
fying information)
◾ Suggestion topic (e.g., safety, quality, cost control, productivity, space,
