So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

S3—Shine (and Inspect)
Nothing raises your team’s spirit like a clean, well-ordered workplace. Nothing
depresses the spirit more than a bleak filthy workplace. S1 and S2 will have freed
up a great deal of floor and shelf space and cleaning will be much easier. Now
let’s apply our 5S mantra to S3. What is our standard? Our 5S team has to decide:
◾ What to clean
◾ How to clean
◾ Who will do the cleaning
◾ How clean is clean
Cleaning targets include storage areas, equipment and machinery, and
surroundings (aisles, windows, meeting rooms, offices, under stairs, and so
on). Develop checksheets outlining what should be cleaned. Be as specific
as you can.
