as inspection, cleaning, lubricating, and tightening to production team mem-

bers. This frees up maintenance team members for predictive maintenance,

equipment improvement and overhauls, training, and other high-value activi-

ties, as illustrated in Figure3.2.

TPM represents a profound shift from the “I operate; you fix” mindset,

to “We are all responsible for our equipment, our plant, and our future.”
