As much as we wish it weren't true, ERP or CRM software is never going to work 100 percent out of the box. I had a client tell me that her implementation partner said that there would be no modifications in her new system. I told her, “I'm sorry that's not true.” She argued with me for a few minutes, and I walked away saying, “We'll have to agree to disagree.” That implementation ended up with many customizations, so I'm not sure why the original partner told them they wouldn't have any.
