Guidelines for end users

This section describes various methods to define your password, as an end user, in the safest way. It explains how to make your password more secure. The safest way is to define the password in a protected option file or prompt for the password in a client program. See the following different ways to define your password:

• Provide the password using the command line with the following options:

        cmd>mysql -u root --password=your_pwd        --OR        cmd>
