It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
MySQL 8 keyring
MySQL 8 provides a keyring service, which allows the MySQL server's internal components and plugins to store their sensitive information for later use. For this feature, MySQL 8 uses the keyring_file plugin, which will store data into the file located on the server host. This plugin is available in all distributions of MySQL, such as the Community Edition and Enterprise Edition.
