So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Default error log destination on Unix and Unix-Like systems
All the above mentioned scenarios in Microsoft Windows will be managed by the –log_error option in Unix systems.
- --log-error: If this is not given then the default destination is the console. If no file name is given, then as with Windows it will create a file in the data directory with the host_name.err name. The user is allowed to specify –log-error in an option file under the mysqld or mysqld_safe sections.
