So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Paragraph-Specific Wordspacing
The Word Spacing in the “Justification” dialog box works the same as Letter Spacing: The designer has built into the font metrics the “spaceband,” or the amount of space that appears on the page when you hit the Spacebar. You can deviate from this amount by a desired percentage. In a number of fonts I open up the word spacing just a wee bit for clarity.
There’s a great keyboard shortcut for manually kerning just the spacebands (the word spacing) in selected text; see the chart on the following page.
