NetBeansやIntelliJを使って成功してきている。本稿執筆時点では、公式にサポートされているIDE
は、本書で集中的に使っていくEclipseである。一般に、公式にサポートされたツールを使うことを
お勧めする。そうすれば、最新アップデートを利用でき、もっとも安定したツールを使える。推奨ツー
ルを使えば、開発コミュニティの大多数も同じツールを使うので、バグを見つけた場合でも、大規模
なユーザーコミュニティが同じ症状を見つけているはずなので、フィックスが簡単になる可能性があ
る。
Toolsプロジェクトはオープンソース的な性格を持つため、プラットフォームやツールに左右されな
いように設計されている。開発チームは、ツールがどこでも快適に動作するように
注意を払っている。
