If a written proposal is analogous to a novel, then a site visit is like a stage adaptation of the written narrative. In a site visit, your agency’s written story comes alive. A site visit gives a program officer or other representative from the funder’s office an opportunity to see firsthand the work being done by the agency and the clients being served, and to meet people associated with the agency. A site visit also enables the program officer to ask more detailed questions about your agency’s request and to hear what your agency’s team has to say.
