THE SEQUEL AND WHY IT’S IMPORTANT
When an author excels at creating a book that thoroughly captures the public’s admiration, there are usually calls for a sequel. As readers, we become so attached to the principal characters in a marvelous story that we yearn for their adventures to continue. Sometimes authors plan on writing a sequel, or even a book series, from the moment a story idea is conceived. (Think Harry Potter.) Other times, upon completing a book, a sequel just seems like the right thing to do.
